Why We Are Here
Passage of Hope Foundation is a non-profit corporation derived from the dream of two friends, one who has worked with Texas Child Protective Services (CPS) children directly, and the other who has children of her own, both with a passion for helping children who can not help themselves.
Mission:
Our mission is to redefine Group Foster Care in Texas. This will be accomplished through providing high-quality care and leading-edge educational/training programs in a home-like setting while offering genuine love and concern for each child.
Vision:
Our intended goal is to make Forbes Place HOME. The children that are removed from their homes are going through sudden changes and forced to transition with little or no support in the process. We will provide a home-like setting with caring staff and provide support and love while they adjust to the transition and new environment. We are equipped to deal with behavior issues that may arise due to these changes and remain proactive while evaluating each child’s situation. We intend for Forbes Place to be a long term solution for children that have been hard to place or who have not yet found an adoptive home. We will invest in our children and their futures as if they are our own.

In Dallas/Tarrant County, there is a great need for transitional housing for children and teens. In the year 2007 Data Book (http://www.dfps.state.tx.us) Region 3 of CPS in Texas, Dallas and Tarrant County alone, had over 11,000 confirmed victims of child abuse and over 28,000 unconfirmed victims. Those numbers increase every day. According to the 2007 Child Abuse and Neglect-Community Assessment Update Families Impact Council, child abuse in Tarrant County has continued to rise while National numbers are decreasing. We will offer the additional space for placements that are currently being turned away from other places due to lack of room.
